Inter-Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC)

ICPC is the Olympics of competitive programming. Teams first qualify for the regionals by giving preliminary contests, then qualify for the world finals from there. Many times, some teams get wildcard entry into the regionals or the world finals, which is decided by the regional director or the directory depending on the competition.

Google Hash-Code

Hash Code is a team programming competition, organised by Google, for students and professionals around the world. You pick your team and programming language and they pick an engineering problem for you to solve. The problem might be solvable efficiently, or might even be a NP-complete problem!

Google CodeJam

Google’s longest running global coding competition, Code Jam, calls on programmers around the world to solve challenging, algorithmic puzzles against the clock. Contestants advance through four online-hosted rounds to compete at the annual Code Jam World Finals that is held at a different international Google office each year. Each round brings new challenges, and in the end 25 contestants will have the ultimate chance to put their skills to the test, vying for cash prizes and the coveted championship title at the World Finals.

Meta HackerCup

Hacker Cup is Meta’s annual open programming competition. Open to participants around the world, it invites you to apply problem-solving and algorithmic coding skills to advance through each year’s online rounds, win prizes, and have a chance to make it to the global finals and win the grand prize.

Microsoft Imagine Cup

The Imagine Cup is full of opportunities to gain new skills, access exclusive training, unlock mentorship opportunities, and have a chance to win great prizes and make a difference in the world. The Imagine Cup is full of opportunities to further gain new skills, develop your existing skill set, receive mentorship, and collaborate with students who are just as passionate as you about making a difference in the world.

Codechef Snackdown

SnackDown is a global programming event that invites programmers from all over the world to take part in India’s most prestigious multi-round programming competition. Hosted by CodeChef, SnackDown is open to anyone with a knack for programming and began in the year 2010. SnackDown aims to pit the finest programming brains from different parts of the globe against each other. Everyone from middle/high school to college to working professionals from the industry can attempt to take home the coveted crown of SnackDown champion.

Achievement in ICPC World Finals 2022, Dhaka

We are immensely excited and proud to share that the team “Cheese_Maggi” representing the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati secured the 4th Rank in the Asia-West Region (3rd in India, 52nd Globally) in the ICPC World Finals 2022 held at Dhaka. 🎉

The team members — Vaibhav Kumar Singh, Nishchay Manwani and Tejas Khairnar put in a superb performance and also stood 2nd in India in the ICPC Huawei Challenge.

Vaibhav and Nishchay were Competititve Programming Heads at @codingclubiitg , and Tejas was the General Secretary of the @csea_iitg . Huge congratulations to them, and we look forward to their mentorship for our upcoming competitive programmers.
